Loch Lomond

Log Cabin in Scottish Highlands, Rowardennan, Loch Lomond

These lochside log cabins are set in the Scottish Highlands at Rowardennan which is principally a hotel, a Youth Hostel a mile away, scattered hill cottages and the lodges themselves. There are 36 log cabins, or lodges on the estate which are all privately owned. A few are let out by their owners for holiday accommodation and if Sandwood or Glenfinnan Lodges are let for any particular dates, the owner can help enquire for other availability.

Please note this web site represents just one log cabin.

At the southern part of Highlands of Scotland, Ben Lomond at just under 1,000 metres high provides a dramatic backdrop to this area and the site. There is a gentling sloping beach of sand and pebbles which is accessible most of the year except when the loch water is very high in winter. Launching of power boats and sailing craft is quite easy. There is a slip as well as a fixed jetty.

This is a very peaceful area, the road finishes just past the hotel and most of the ‘traffic’ is walkers following the West Highland Way – one of Scotland’s most famous long hikes from Bearsden, Glasgow, and past Ben Lomond nearby and then north to Fort William.

A cabin is great with lots of walks and trips. The weather has been tropical and we will be back again”. July 2014
